Today is Monday

Today, is Monday and the weather outside reminds me of a classic winter day--in Seattle.
The sun is missing, at least in Southern California, today, however, the news is good.

I often use this format to lament about the business and its many aspects. Today, I got three
emails from a regional manager, a branch manager and another employee whom I hope will
aspire to become a top notch manager for us.

All three had brought up ideas that would help us grow, in their respective areas, and to be honest,
I did not expect any of them to put together the ideas that they have presented and in effect,
challenged me to reach a higher place, if you will.

Yes, motivating employees and directing their efforts is one of my key jobs. At the same time, I have
to confess that it is easier to do admin work, as it tends to be sort of finite, as opposed to tasks like
improving sales, which is a constant and multi faceted effort. It never ends or finishes, and rightfully so.

It has just been so long since we felt that we had the clear path to move forward, instead of trying to deal
with all this economy has brought on all of us.

I just wanted to say that the way forward, with people who are motivated, is the best way to move forward.
I want to feel good about our moving forward and gaining new customers that we can continue to work with
well into the future. This is what we do best and I am thankful to be part of our new future.
Rock on.
Mark
