Its Snowing.......but this is California....

Well, here I am at our Oakland, California warehouse, and the weather forecasters are predicting snow at sea level, here in the bay area, between late tonight and noon tomorrow.

I used to live in the Berkeley area, when I attended school there, back in the late 1970's.....and I recall a lot of different and unusual things about my time in the bay area, but never was there snow unless we drove to Lake Tahoe......

I had the opportunity to do quite a few things during this trip. I attended my first North Bay
CMSA Chapter meeting, which had, as its guest speaker, one of the heads of the Google Ad Program for Moving spoke and it was quite informative, and I even got a free Google Pen.
Ask me, I think it is the most expensive pen I did not directly pay for, but that is a whole other story, for another time.....

I got to also got to break some bread with our entire crew, last night. It was a chance for me
to reconnect with our staff up here, from Kiyoshi Foster who runs our San Francisco location, http://www.boxbros.com/bay-area-california
to Sharie Michalec and her family, as well as Ganzo and his family, too. Dan and his fiance, Carrie and our top comedian and musician extraordinaire, Bill Carter, kept everyone in stitches.

Today I am going to visit our San Francisco location and do so before the snow arrives.....and tonight, I am blessed to be attending a play that my niece has the lead in, up in Martinez. Nothing like a full agenda.

I just wanted to say that we have a great crew up here with so much to look forward to, and I want them all to know that I appreciate their fine work, commitment to customer service, but most of all, that we are one great team and family, all rolled into one-committed to giving our customers the best possible service in the whole wide world.

Three more days till March.......get ready....

Box Bros Seattle Stone Table Top.....

We all work very hard to earn our keep at Box Brothers..... Our Seattle crew had a 800 lb table top to be un-crated and set up in a residence last week.... We originally picked it up from one of our accounts in the San Francisco market which Ganzo, Bill, Biamba and I were on the pickup.... This is not your ordinary table top.... It's a 2" x 120" stone table top.... Ganzo and Biamba did a great job with the crating and it arrived in Seattle in excellent condition..... That was a great way to work together on a monster job..... Thanks guys.....

Sharie and Ganzo playing with Ivory Ship in Oakland.....

This is my first big booking and shipment here at Box Brothers...a customer called in needing some careful packing and shipping for this 20th century ivory and bone battleship. I told him about our crating services which he was very happy to hear about, as this battleship is quite large and extremely fragile. This morning Ganzo and I got a chance to assemble it to take some photos...it was somewhat like putting together a very delicate model kit...figuring out which pieces go where, and giving all the soldiers their spears and shields. I know that ivory is somewhat frowned upon now, however I think everyone can appreciate the craftsmanship and beauty of this piece, and we take pride in getting the opportunity to preserve that. I have been doing art packing for over four years and this is one of the most unique pieces I have gotten to see. Below are some photos of the ship here at the Oakland Warehouse. Box Bros Bay Area.....

Hello Blog readers.... I just finished up with a marketing trip to The Bay Area last week and thought I would share the photos of the hard working staff..... The smiles are only for the camera.... The photo of Bill is while he is riding in the co-pilot marketing seat.... The Photo of Kiyoshi is while he is waiting for the meter guy to threaten his life if he gives our clients another ticket.... He does look like an Asian Paul Bunyan..... Rodger actually makes it down stairs from time to time.... Always sporting " The Hat " and taking care of freight and transportation for our Oakland warehouse..... We finally have a female worker in The Bay.... She has a back ground in crating and art handling.... She is capable of working in the office, in the warehouse and is able to cover the store in San Francisco...... Sherry is going to be part of the family for a while.... I was unable to get a photo of Javier and Ganzo to share due to the fact that this Blog-site only lets me download 5 photos.... I'm sure I can come up with Javier and Ganzo photos next time I'm there.... Until then, keep up the great work in The Bay.....
